Yes We Camp offers an inventive use of available spaces

In our opin­ion, the cur­rent mech­a­nisms for mak­ing and man­ag­ing cities sti­fle the pos­si­bil­i­ties of spon­ta­neous appro­pri­a­tion and inven­tion on the part of all those who live or prac­tice these spaces on a dai­ly basis. City users inter­face with ser­vice providers, pub­lic and pri­vate; they are con­sid­ered as con­sumers or ben­e­fi­cia­ries, rarely as co-pro­duc­ers.

We are work­ing to help bring about a change in atti­tude, to allow every­one to become a “local co-pro­duc­er” of dai­ly ser­vices. It is not a ques­tion of assign­ing us to new and oblig­a­tory mis­sions, in the man­ner of civ­il or mil­i­tary ser­vice; it is about mak­ing bet­ter use of our cohab­i­ta­tion, accept­ing to rely on the pres­ence of oth­ers to cre­ate nat­ur­al rec­i­proc­i­ties between all.

Our pro­pos­al is a pro­to­col for the inven­tive use of avail­able spaces.

In con­texts of waste­land, vacan­cy or tran­si­to­ry town plan­ning, Yes We Camp can ini­ti­ate a part­ner­ship pro­to­col which allows these avail­able spaces to become, dur­ing a giv­en time, a zone of pos­si­ble attempt and facil­i­tat­ed inven­tion, to meet sev­er­al ambi­tions: local pro­duc­tion, wel­com­ing the most vul­ner­a­ble, rela­tion­ship with liv­ing things, devel­op­ment of learn­ing, artis­tic cre­ation, col­lec­tive achieve­ments.
